What does Rot Front mean?

‘Rot Front’ was the common greeting of the supporters and members of the "Roter Frontkämpferbund" (RFB), to which the clenched fist was raised. he Red Front Fighters' League was founded in 1924 as a communist defence organisation by decision of the KPD leadership and was thus a socialist movement that emerged in Germany during the Weimar Republic. It grew out of the need to defend oneself against the rising fascism and political repression of the time. It was therefore not just a political organisation, but a symbol of resistance against the political pressure exerted by right-wing groups.
