Features of the Pride flag

Our Pride flag is made of 110g/m² polyester, which is known for its durability. The flag is hemmed all around and has a strong webbing on the pole side, which provides additional stability. A flagpole for our flags is not included.

Meaning of the Pride flag

The Pride flag has always stood for self-confidence, pride and empowerment of groups that are discriminated against due to their sexuality, gender or identity. The rainbow flag represents the LGBTQIA+ community as a sign of acceptance and tolerance and unites homosexual, bisexual, queer, asexual, inetersexual and transgender people. The Pride flag is an important symbol against homophobia, sexism and solidarity and should not be missing at any Christopher Street Day or Pride Parade. 

Origin of the Pride flag

The rainbow flag, also known as the LGBTQIA+ or Pride flag, became an international symbol of the lesbian and gay movement in the 1970s. It was designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, an American artist, for Gay Freedom Day, which is regarded as the forerunner of Gay Pride.
