Exit Racism - Buch

Although racism is present in all areas of German society, it is not easy to talk about it. Nobody wants to be racist, and many people shy away from the term. The book accompanies readers on their sometimes first confrontation with racism and does so without pointing a finger. Instead, readers are taken on a journey critical of racism, during which they not only gain concrete knowledge about the history of racism and its effects, but also support in their emotional confrontation with the topic.

In many places, exercises and reading tips provide the opportunity to delve deeper into a particular subject area. QR codes provide access to further articles, videos and images. In addition, almost every chapter contains excerpts from so-called racism logbooks - anonymized diaries that former students of Tupoka Ogette kept in their own confrontation with racism and in which they report on their emotions and thought processes. Options for action are not neglected either. The aim of the book is to work with readers to develop a perspective that is critical of racism and that they can actually live out in their everyday lives.
